Frozen vs. Cooked

Had a question for everyone. Since I'm still new to SCD, I'm still

reading alot and asking alot of questions (of myself and others)

regarding best implementation.

I happened to be thinking tonight about the cooking of all the

veggies and fruits (to break down the cell wall for easier digestion)

and then remembered something I had read awhile back when considering

freezing certain fruits/veggies.

The freezing process tends to break cell walls as well, because of

the expanding ice crystals within the cells. The result is obvious

when you let frozen fruit thaw out completely, as it becomes mush

(basically like heavily cooked fruits/veggies). So, I'm wondering.

Is there any reason why freezing could not be used as a similarly

effective means of breaking down the cell wall of fruits and veggies

for easier digestion?

I ask because having to cook EVERYTHING we eat is making it really

tough for me to get much else done. I have a business that I run

from my home and my wife has narcolepsy. We have 4 young children,

three of which are homeschooled.

To say the least, I have plenty to keep me busy without spending half

my day in the kitchen cooking everything till it's basically veggie

gravy.

If freezing these items serves the same purpose, this would be much

easier, as I could simply freeze my fruits and take them out for

breakfast or lunch and the kids could eat them with little or nor

prep on my part.

Can anyone tell me the pros/cons of taking this approach?

Thanks for any assistance.
