Guest guest
I know many here do the MB12 shots so I wanted to post this question to those. I have noticed for the past 5 months that my son's language is the best the day he is due another MB12 shot. We give shots every 3 days. I can find no other correlational variable. Has anyone experienced this? My son's DAN has no idea. Thanks Becky ASD son SCD 9 months
Guest guest
Hi! Yes - we had the same thing and our DAN upped us to a shot every other day. Maybe you could suggest this to your DAN? Guest guest
I've noticed that my son's language is always best the morning/day after his MB12 shot. We've increased to every other day, and I did some reading on Dr. Neubrander's site and discovered that the nurse who trained me to give them did not do a very good job. The angle of the shot is really important (close to horizontal and NOT directly into the muscle-the nurse had told me that we could inject him in the bum or the thigh and it really needs to go into the fat of the butt). I wonder if you may have a similar situation? If the medicine isn't going into the right tissue, it is absorbed too fast. But if his best language is on days when he's due for a shot, that really doesn't make sense, does it? Anyway, MB12 is very helpful for our guy, and reading about it on Dr. Neubrander's site helped me fine tune things. We've also tried the nasal spray, but haven't seen anything remarkable (though I'm thinking I might order it again anyway. The pharmacy shipped it on a very hot summer day with only one ice pack, and by the time I got it from FedEX it was warm and it should remain refrigerated at all times). Learn more at http://www.drneubrander.com/ and http://www.childrenscornerschool.com/recoveries.htm (scroll down to see videos about nasal MB12). There is also a yahoo group mb12valtrex . Good luck! Guest guest
We gave MB12 shots for about 2 years with good results, then several months ago I started noticing that after we gave our son the shot at night, the next day he would be more hyper, less talkative, and a little more out of it. The next day he would be a little better, and on the 3rd day back to his old self. That night would be time to give him another shot. After watching this cycle for 3 or 4 times, I decided to take him off the MB12 shots. He's done great ever since then. We haven't met with his DAN doc since then, but we will soon. I'm not sure if he will have us try again since he's been off the shots for several months now or if he will think it is okay to keep him off them. Just our experience.
