Guest guest
I'm on Nystatin oral tablets three times per day. I take one pill first thing in the morning along with all my other allergy RX's and then one with lunch and one with dinner. I can't tolerate the cow or goat yogurt due to a dairy allergy, and I've tried to make almond yogurt and coconut yogurt, but can't seem to get those to work. After being on antibiotics and steroids 6-12 times per year in the prior 4 years, I have managed to stay off of all antibiotics and steroids for the entire 10 months since beginning SCD last October. I have had to travel on business a LOT lately and it's very hard to stick with strict SCD under those circumstances. (Frequently, even when I am trying my hardest to follow the diet, I will end up at a manufacturer's plant where they will say " We brought in lunch so we can keep working through lunch. " The last time this happened a couple of weeks ago, the lunch was club sandwiches, pasta salad, beef noodle soup, potato chips, and carrot cake. They had also given me a smoking rental car, and I traded rental cars three times and finally gave up and kept the third smelly car because I needed to get on the road for a 2.5 hour drive through unfamiliar territory to my final destination. The hotel was also full of cigarette smoke, as the smoking lounge area was right next to the front desk/lobby with no walls between them. I came home from that trip sick as a dog with sinus infection, ear infections and it turned into acute bronchitis. Now I'm on antibiotics for 2 weeks, and I went back to " fanatical adherence " as soon as I got home from the trip 2 weeks ago. Since I can't have the yogurt, I tried making the cabbage juice on pecanbread, and I've also been trying better to remember to take the lyosan acidophilus capsules that I never remember since they have to live in the refrigerator and can't be taken with the nystatin. How long do I need to wait between the Nystatin and the cabbage juice and/or acidophilus capsules? I also recently bought some oil of oregano. Can I use the Oil of Oregano at the same time as the Nystatin? Thanks for your help!
Guest guest
Allow at least 2-3 hours, more if you can, between the Nystatin and the probiotic. I do not know about the oil of oregano. I hope someone else will answer. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > How long do I need to wait between the Nystatin and the cabbage > juice and/or acidophilus capsules? Guest guest
Hi <<Can I use the Oil of Oregano at the same time as the > > Nystatin?>> Both are antifungals and most people rotate their use instead of using them at the same time. Something that has found to be effective is pairing a yeast enzyme (Candex, Candizyme, Candidase etc..) with a antifungal. It's not always easy to do though, when you're taking the antifungals three times a day like I am.
