Guest guest
Hello Everyone! My daughter had her first appointment with her DAN! Doctor and she recommended treating yeast with Diflucan for a month followed by Nystatine. I don’t feel very comfortable with the Diflucan. I’m afraid it can mess up even more my daughter’s intestinal microorganism balance. Can someone share their experiences with this? Any brand of Diflucan SCD legal? Any advice? Along with that she put her on several supplements and I’m a little confused about the times I should give her the supplements and also about the doses of some of them… so if somebody can help me with that, I’ll appreciate it very much. Here are my questions: What’s the best Kirkman SCD legal multivitamin? When is the best time to give it and the right dose for a 3y 8m old? She’ll be taking Kirkman’s DMG also and the label says that it provides 100% of the Vitamin B12 needed. Is it necessary to look for a multivitamin without vitamin B12? How many times a week can she have a bath with Epsom salts? I use 2 cups every time. Melatonin + Magnesium, 1 cap at bed time. Can it be given in the juice? I apologize for the many questions but I want to get started the right way and prefer to listen to the experts before trying things by myself. Thank you so very much for your help. Guest guest
Hi, Ximena, I don't know about Diflucan and Nystatin. I hope others can answer for you. As long as you are not seeing any bad reactions to them, you can give the Epsom salt baths daily or even more than once a day. You should call your doctor's office and ask about the B12, the dosing and which multi-vitamin is recommended. The legal Kirkman vitamins are listed here (there are several): http://www.pecanbread.com/new/Sup1.html You can also call Kirkman (phone number on website) for knowledgeable support. I wouldn't think you'd need to look for a multi-vitamin without B12, but ask your doctor. swallows capsules easily and uses the NuThera without A and D because he takes cod liver oil for the A and the D. I think the cod liver oil is very helpful. I understand how it is to see the DAN doctor. Sometimes I think I need to bring in a tape-recorder so that I don't miss anything! But the office staff can find out the answers and get back to you; that's one of their jobs, so don't hesitate to call. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi Ximena, <<My daughter had her first appointment with her DAN! Any advice?>> I have no personal experience with diflucan. I did try nystatin with bad results. I had better luck with yeast enzymes & natural antifungals (to reduce bad yeast) along with yogurt and S. boulardii to repopulate the body with good microflora. << Along with that she put her on several supplements and I'm a little confused about the times I should give her the supplements and also about the doses of some of them… so if somebody can help me with that, I'll appreciate it very much. > Here are my questions: > What's the best Kirkman SCD legal multivitamin?>> It depends on what you are looking for. The legal multis are listed at http://www.pecanbread.com/new/Sup1.html << When is the best time to give it and the right dose for a 3y 8m old?>> Multi's should be taken with food as they are better absorbed this way , I think I have seen it recommended that they be taken with breakfast (earlier in the day) but I could be wrong. The correct dose will depend on which supplement you choose. Kirkmans should be able to tell you what the dose is for her age. <<She'll be taking Kirkman's DMG also and the label says that it provides 100% of the Vitamin B12 needed. Is it necessary to look for a multivitamin without vitamin B12?>> I'd check with your doc to be sure, but I was getting too much B vitamins after being on the diet. The diet quickly resolved my absorption after a few months and I was advised by my doctor to stop the B supplements. <<How many times a week can she have a bath with Epsom salts? I use 2 cups every time.>> Some use them every day. If you notice no bad reactions it should be fine. <<Melatonin + Magnesium, 1 cap at bed time. Can it be given in the juice?>> Others put it in juice at bed time. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of Em &
