Well I am one of Gwen's littermates and I too have reached the all

important one month mark. Thank goodness...NO MORE CARAFATE!!!! I am

trying to determine a weight using two different scales, but I

believe that I am down 27 pounds. I am wearing jeans that were

stacked in the closet because I could not get them on and that feels

good. Speaking of feeling good, I feel just great. I have not had

any problems with any foods I have tried, including pastas, rice,

meats, and some veggies (and yes, sweets seem to glide right down

without a fight). Sorry Dr. R, but I even went out with a friend and

while I meant to only have the miso soup, I did sneak in a piece of

tuna sushi (wasabi and all) and it was fantastic. It melted in my

mouth and caused me no problems.

My only problem has been a rash on my belly that started on my left

side and is spreading a little toward the middle. I called the office

and while I am still waiting for definite word, Diane had me stop the

Carafate a day early and I think the rash is clearing up a little.

Odd because it did not start until I was 3 weeks out (a week after

the Actigall) so I would not have thought it was that.

Anyway, I go to my PCP next week and will give a further update then

if there is any news. Meanwhile, I hope everyone has a wonderful

holiday and continued success to post-ops and good luck to all of you

pre-ops. What a difference in my outlook these days just KNOWING the

weight will really come off this time!
