Guest guest
My 5yr old has eaten on the diet about 3 yrs and he is mainstreamed and doing great in all areas besides growth. Has anyone seen a growth spurt and can relate it to anything? Or does anyone else have a child that remains petite? I'm looking for suggestions or feedback. Is he having good bm's (colour, frequency etc.)? If no, you could try adding a legal multivitamin to see if that helps. Does his doctor feel that he is behind in growth? By petite do you mean thin, lean, short etc..? How is his appetite? Does he get lots of good fats (avocado, oilve oil, coconut oil, butter etc..? Guest guest
Carolyn, Sheila, Thanks for your post. We have a similar problem over here with our Gen. Hes 7 and a half, and his 5 year old brother is now a little taller. Hes the shortest in his class, and by quite a bit even though his older and younger brothers all all the tallest in their classes. Gen loves his vegetables and fruits, and nuts. Hes also casein free, and can't eat soy. We have had troubles with the SCD approved/gluten/casein/soy free multivitamins by kirkmans. (He wont settle down, and start repeating words. which he stopped after starting the diet four years ago.) Gen isn't thin or fat, just short, he has a normal appetite and eats a balanced diet, but I'm not certain about the good fats. (I'll have to consult with his mother.) Gen is very regular, and has good bms. (maybe once every other month he'll eat more than one apple a day, and he'll get undigested apples come out, but otherwise perfectly OK) So I appreciate Carolyns question, as we are facing similar issues here too.
