Guest guest
Sheila, I have had very small amount of blood apearing on and off for the last 2 weeks. Disipating for a week an then pink a few days. It all seems this time to be like a small wound trying to heal. No major blood. I went off yogurt 6 yrs ago because of the temperature issue with the yogurt makers etc. and back then I hadn't known about the Goat milk either. Did Probiotic (freeze dried powder) that didn't seem to do anything for me and might have also not settled well with me. Still haven't started on Goat Yogurt but very anxious to do so. Delivery of fresh milk arriving on Wed next. In the mean time I kept telling myself that the beneficial powers of this yogurt that eveyone is boasting about will help me finally make some actual bigger stride improvements. Hope and positive thinking, right? Now it seems that if there is any blood in stools (or after passing stools) that yogurt shoul be introduced later? Is this a case of each peson is different and one has to try to see how they react to the yogurt? So, what stops the bleeding? I so much hoped that the yogurt would help put on weight and also allow for me to reintroduce the more caloric foods. I'm eating every 3 hrs but I'm still far too thin. I'm currently 25mg of Prednizone and 6 days with Cortizone enemas of 16mg (1 each night).....& 3000mg of Mesalazine ( which is regular daily dose regardless of bout or not). Been on the Intro for 2 months, 1 month into the intro with up to 5 additional foods, had a setback now back to just 2 new introduced foods: zuquini and applesauce(started yesterday). 1 small BM a day or none as yesterday. Thanks for listening to me... F. 11yrs UC / 10yrs SCD Sheila Trenholm escribió: If your setback entails blood in stool, remove yogurt for a few days to see if that helps. If there is a lot of blood in the stool - active ulceration - that person may benefit from clearing up the bleeding before trying the yogurt. The yogurt although very helpful has good enzymes which may irritate raw tissue. If the bleeding is minimal (hemorrhoids etc..) slowly starting the yogurt may help. If regular yogurt is problematic, dripping the yogurt may be easier to tolerate. Let me know how it goes with the yogurt.
