Guest guest
I tell my daughter to chew until it doesn't feel funny going down her throat. When she swallows and makes that squinty eyed, " that hurt " type of face-I say, " see, that felt funny didn't it? " I tell her she could save her tummy some work by mooshing up the food first. It's funny, sometimes she eats a whole meal saying, " that didn't feel funny down my throat mama " after every bite. My daughter is also 3 and a month and can eat more than me...It's crazy! I have found, though that the days she seems to be having a reaction to the food she absolutely insists on more and more and more. When she is feeling alright she can be pretty easily persuaded to take a break. I always let her know, after this plate there won't be anymore food for a while. You could also make it more concrete, by saying she could have more after a specific event. It dooesn't work when my daughter is at all reacting though-turns into a tantrum for " MORE SQUASH!!!!!!!!!! " after having eaten an entire butternut squash in one sitting..and I meant the tantrum can last 45 min to an hour of full force screaming! oh, and I can relate to the 3 zucchini and carrot thing! My daughter's bm's are quite firm and kind of like deer poo...little balls! I figure she is having too much meat, I am trying to limit it more. It is just so hard, because she can't eat fruit and is only on 2-3 veggies. Susie Hansen mother to 3 yo undiagnosed ella scd 8/2/
