Guest guest
I understand that this discoloration is due to an iron deficiency which is very common in people with gut mal absorption. Iron is not being absorbed because the villi aren't functioning properly. Have you had her iron level checked? If it is low she needs iron supplements. There are a lot of iron supplements out there but I don't know which ones are SCD approved. Doreen " My daughter has developed dark discolouration of her teeth. At first I thought it was due to supplements, but after eliminating them have realised it can't be. Has anybody else experienced this with their child? Amy has been on the diet 18 months and never experienced it before. I was wondering if the honey could have caused it? Or almond flour? She consumes lots of honey, and even though has had almond flour, is now consuming it more frequently. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't keep taking her to the dentist for cleaning on a weekly basis! . Guest guest
Iron supplements are illegal. Please try to get your iron in iron-rich foods, assisted with vitamin C as Sheila recommends. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
