Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Thanks for the suggestions - I thought I read something on BTVC website where it mentions that you can have an overgrowth of acidophilus...which got me thinking about the roulette - how do we know what the status is of our gut with regard to overgrowths? Is there a lab out there that does stool samples to tell you exactly what probiotic to use or do people just try the acidophilus and/or the s. boulardii and see what happens? As for meds, I am currently tapering off Pred since end of July - I'm currently on 5 mg and should be pred-free in a couple of weeks. I've been on Pentasa for some time now as Asacol did me in last year. I used to take Rowasa as well but I can't tolerate that anymore. Liz --------------------------------- Fussy? Opinionated? Bifidum bacteria can certainly go bonkers when on SCD - could that be what you read? If anyone knows more about this please let Liz and I know. <<...which got me thinking about the roulette - how do we know what the status is of our gut with regard to overgrowths? I think most just use the probiotics without testing. <<As for meds, I am currently tapering off Pred since end of July - I'm currently on 5 mg and should be pred-free in a couple of weeks.
