Guest guest
Glenda I can't wait till I can give my update and it is something like yours... All of you are so fortunate. I just hope the doctor holds out. I need to ask all a question. Is Clinic or the Hospital , is one better then the other or does it matter? Hotels, is one better then the other.. hawthorn or hampton Inn? Just needed to know. Thanks Connie:) 3 month update > Hi all, > I am at 3 months today. Guest guest
I know Tarri it is very encouraging... I have a friend who told me that she could not pick up a 60 lb bag and thought that this is what my body has been toting around for years?? We don't realize what we put ourselves through until we are on the other side. I can't wait till I am one who has crossed over. May continuous positive things continue to happen as you get healthier and healthier... Connie from Alabama 3 month update > > > > Hi all, > > I am at 3 months today. Guest guest
Glenda, Great post!!! Glad you're able to climb those stairs.. I usually take one at a time, but hopefully will be able to climb like a normal person soon, too!! Youre weight loss sounds good too, I can only hope I can do that also! Hugs Trudy/Indiana post op 11-3-00 339/302/145 3 month update Hi all, I am at 3 months today. My surgery was 9-21-00 and I was down to my lowest today from 278lbs to 216lbs. That is 62 lbs. I have been fluctuating between 50 - 60 for about 3 weeks. This has been my longest slow down. I went to the doctor and he checked my electrolytes, blood iron levels, liver function, A1C ( 3 month average of blood sugar) I am diabetic, and my cholesterol. everything was normal except I was a little anemic. This is not new it is the same as it was before surgery. My cholesterol was 180 and pre -op it was 284 this is normal. My A1C was 6 and this is normal. My blood pressure was 113/64. My doctors are very pleased and one of the GYN- OB doctors I work with is so happy with my results that she has mentioned it to 2 of her patients. I hope I will prove to the doctors I know that this is a good option for some people. Oh! did I mention that I can go up and down stairs like a normal person now. I have a very bad knee and could only go up and down the stairs up with the good leg and down with the bad. Now I can almost trot up and down. My husband is the one who mentioned it first. He said look at you, You could not do this 2 months ago. For me this is the best money (I was self pay) I ever spent and I would do it again in a minute. Best wishes to all of you in waiting! Guest guest
Hi preops, I haven't posted on here in a while as its hard to keep up with this group and the postop group. I will be 3 months postop this week and I'm doing great. I've lost 48 lbs, have more energy than ever and feel like a new person. I'm still learning to deal with the difference between what my head wants to eat versus what my body will allow but its worth it. Its hard to explain how different my reactions to food are. Something will look good but if I eat it, I don't get the same pleasure from it, so I get bored after a bite or two. I didn't believe the post ops who said this would happen but it does!! Thanks to Dr. R for all the time he spent finding this incredible way to help us and how involved he stays with all of us. I have a friend who had the Rouen-Y in Ft. Lauderdale and there is NO support from other patients, staff, etc. I can't imagine where my life would be today if I hadn't had the surgery with Dr. R. Please let me know if anyone needs a contact. in Atlanta MGB 10/12/00 275/
