Guest guest
Can recent MGB'ers help me? I have done my patient letter and it is not 10 pages long. I have been thorough and feel I have exhausted my vocabulary. I do feel I have a good understanding of what to expect pre and post op. Were your letters actually 10 pages long?? thanks, Kristi _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Guest guest
Kristi, 10 is his desired minimum and he'll kick it back if shorter. So, say it again with just a few different words, but make that baby 10 Pages!!!! You can do it. Pretend you're sitting there talking to a fairly dumb friend who just isn't getting it!! :-) PhillyJude
Guest guest
Judy, Don't be too hard on the Doc. He is doing a little CYOA here. He is performing an old procedure a new way and is trying to convince one of the most STUBBORN institutions in existence that it is a better way. The medical community will attack him from EVERY direction that it can. By having us write this letter he can say, without fear of contradiction, that his patients KNOW what they are getting into when they come in for this procedure. I happen to be convinced that he has found a better way of doing things. Remember, these guys (the medical community) call a 35 year old protocol (RNY) the GOLD standard for WLS. They are a hard bunch to convince. Hell, look how long it took to convince them to wash their hands between surgeries. Guest guest
Good point, Jerry. Did you know that they continued to give the smallpox vaccine until there were more people dying from the vaccination than from the actual disease? Very slow to change! Dr. R also told us at clinic that one reason he makes us " jump through hoops " to be approved is to weed out those that aren't commited and those that won't follow his directions. He said this surgery is a partnership and we have to be able to work together. Margaret in St. Louis 12/13/00 --- Jerry Conrad wrote: > Judy, > Don't be too hard on the Doc. Guest guest
Thanks for the response, I worked on it until 1am, but got it to 13 with a 14 font and double spacing. Haven't done a paper like that since college, but I know it will be worth it!! Have a great NEW YEAR for a NEW YOU!!Kristi >From: Judyh1022@... >Reply-To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com >To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com >Subject: Re: Letter >Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2000 08:22:13 EST > >Kristi, 10 is his desired minimum and he'll kick it back if shorter.
