Guest guest
Zoie, I didn't mean to say that Vanderbuilt is a " bad " hospital. I am sure they are world known for lots of other good reasons. But their GI department leaves alot to be desired. Lots of docs that don't know their stuff. Kris in TN
Guest guest
Kris, I know Vanderbilt is known for being a great teaching facility. I know several people in my area that have been there and have had great experiences. I also have heard many horror stories as well. My own story (to me) is a horror! I went for just short of 7 years without the proper diagnosis. I went to the top GI facility in Memphis and was told I had fibromyalgia! I would warn anyone I know NOT to go to the Memphis GI doc I saw unless they want to be subjected to a doc that does not listen and be belittled by him. Not to say he is a bad doctor; I am sure he has done something to have kept his license this long. He put me through a psychological test to see if I was nuts just because I didn't have anything to show abnormal on any test! I recently wrote this guy a letter and sent him my medical records from Mayo Clinic just to prove how wrong he was. I don't even care if the letter or the records was even read by him. It was just a closure thing for me because I have been so angry with him. Again, I want to thank you for the heads up on the GI docs. I have traveled to get what I needed before and I will do that again if necessary. It is not worth my energy to see someone who doesn't have the time for me. Have a good day, and here in TN.....KEEP COOL! Zoie
