Guest guest
I am so glad that you have found physicians that will help you. I went from GI doc to GI doc trying to make one of them understand that I was in PAIN and that I needed help. I had the IBS diagnosis as well in the beginning even though my symptoms were not IBS symptoms. I even got " evicted " from a doctor's office once. It's kinda funny now when I look back on it but at the time I was furious! I had already been through an endoscopy 8 weeks before I saw this doctor and I had my records with me. And had 3 other endoscopy records that I had done over the past year or so. You know the first thing he says to me is " first I need to run the light down into your stomach " !! At that point I was so angry I could have screamed. I told him that I would not be subjected to another procedure that I had already done 8 weeks earlier since none of my symptoms had changed. I also went a little too far in saying that I felt every GI doctor needed money first so that's why I had been subjected to so many endoscopy's already. IMMEDIATE eviction from his office!! Probably just as well because he obviously had a huge ego that would have over-ridden any medical thought process he may have learned in college anyway. LOL Anyway, point being is that I have CP and SOD like most people here. It is hard to deal with but what is harder is NOT knowing what you have and dealing with that every day. Hope you have a wonderful day. Zoie
Guest guest
, I don't know anything at all about small duct conditions. Have you asked your GI doc exactly what " diffuse changes of small duct-non-calcifying chronic pancreatitis " means?? I know what you mean about being in the medical field but not letting the physicians know you have knowledge. I have worked in a doctor's office now for over 10 years. I did the medical assiting for most of that 10 years but now I am completely administrative. Therefore, I have lost out on a lot of the changes that go on constantly in the medical field. And, too, once you get away from all of that it is easy to forget things that you once knew by heart. But I can tell you how frustrating insurance is because that is what I work with everyday. I don't know everything there is to know about my condition either. I have learned a lot since I got my diagnosis but I feel like I need to learn so much more. You gotta keep the doctors walking the straight line and the only way to do that is with knowledge. Zoie
Guest guest
, since I now know that you are a Kaiser patient, if you continue to have problems with your doctors and decide to look for a new one, I can recommend mine, though she is in Oakland, not Vallejo. She is wonderful and always listens to what I have to say about my pancreatitis. She always tells the ER doctors to give me whatever I ask for. lol. Just wanted to let you know that you've got an option on another doctor in Kaiser. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
