Guest guest
Hi I hope you are doing well. I am feeling so much better and its wonderful. I still have pain but it is tolerable, as long as I dont sneeze...LOL Actually by definition it is the nurses job to treat the patients response to illness or injury. To educate and be a patient advocate. It is in the code we all say upon getting our degree. It has always been a vvery important part of my practice. I hve seen tons of nurses who do just the necessary tasks and are out the door. The 'do your 8 and hit the gate' mentality. Never taking the time necessary to go back to the patient after the doc has left to see if there is anything else they need. Maybe I am just one of the few who have done that. I dont know. I do know that none of the nurses is any of my visits have ever come back to me after speaking with the doc to check. Doctors who dont take the time to talk with me and answer my questions will never see me again. I have dumped many of them for just that. I will not be spoken to harshly or be patronized either. So many times patients leave the exam room and are heading down the road and realize they had forgotten this or thaat to talk with the doc about. Even I have. If a nurse comes back in and ask the pts if they need anything, a good nurse could answer those or bring the doc back in. Knowledge is power and the more empowered we are as patients the better we can deal with illness and be as healthy as possible. Good nurses know that; and I am all too aware of the time crunch issues. Good gawd girl, I need to go back to work...LOLOLOL Take care and talk soon,
