Guest guest
K , The company I work for is a huge sponsor for make-a-wish. We are building them a new house, kinda like a ronald mcdonald house. I have always volunterred for something. As I trvaled through this cp , I realized I needed something that will fill my cup and not drain it dry. I also realized I really relate to sick people. My daughter is almost 16 and I also realized how much I gain my little niece Emma who is 7. I went their web site, filled out the form and sent it in. I actually applied for something secreatarial, as I do that for a living. They called and made me a wish grantor. As a wish grantor, you get to hang out and color with the kids. You spend time with them and if they do not choose a travel wish, you are there with them to make their wish happen! You never talk about anything medical. These kids are so wise. You can learn soooo much. You walk away and you find it hard to walk away. It really puts my own life into perspective. And I think somehow kids know when you are sick. There is a bond, some kind of connection there. I would encourage you to check it out. You choose how much you want to do it. Like if you only want one wish kid a year, that's fine, If you want all you can handle, you can do that too. You choose your level. Let me know if I can help you. -Kat
