Guest guest
, If the docs here want to do more surgery I would rather go to Indiana to Dr. Lehman and let him remove my pancreas! Isn't he in Indiana? I don't think the docs around here can do that can they? Of course, I know they probably won't do that until it is about to explode or something but I don't want to have surgery after surgery and them not work. Dr. Adam's is hoping that as I heal things will get better but he said he couldn't promise. I guess it is a shot in the dark with this disease and everything is a gamble. I just wish I could skip it all and get the doggone thing taken out and be done with it! How are you today? I hope great! Guest guest
Kris, I have had diagnosed cp for almost 3 years now. I kept getting worse so my local GI doc ran some tests in Dec. and saw a cyst. He said he did not know what to do with me so he sent me to ton to the specialist there. I went in to see Dr. Hawes who mainly does ERCP's and that type of thing. When I went to see him he diagnosed me with pancreas divisum. Noone had ever told me I had that until then. He reccommended me to Dr. Adam's the surgeon that same day because of the cyst and the scarring and symptoms I was having due to the pancreas divisum. I couldn't have an ERCP done because I have had gastric bypass. I went in to see the surgeon that same day and he wanted to do surgery in like 2 weeks. I could not do it then because of too much going on with my kids etc. I decided to put it off for almost 2 months until my kids were out of school. Dr. Adam's did the sphincteroplasty on June 9th. My ducts were completely scarred over but the cyst was gone. The main reason they decided to perform the surgery is because the ERCP was not an option. If I could have had that they would have done it. Now I am still having problems but I can say I have not thrown up near as much since I have had surgery but I still have pain and attacks pretty frequently. At least once to twice a week. So I am not sure where we go from here but I am going to a pain management doc next week so hopefully that will help. I hope this answered some of your questions. If you have any more please feel free to ask! Angie in SC " The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way. Guest guest
Angie, Hi, I just saw the post to you from Chrissy about your sphincteroplasty (sp?). Would you mind telling me about it and when did you (and your doctor) know that it was time for that procedure. Thanks, Take care Kris in TN
