Guest guest
I am sorry your husbands birthday celebration was ruined by that attack. that was always the worse part, never knowing when or what might bring on an attack. One day you can do things and the next day whammo, just like you said. It got to the point I just stayed at home and didn't even dare go anywhere. I did have a transduodenal sphincteroplasty in Oct of 03. It didn't do much for me because at that time the surgeon held my pancreas in his hands and said to me later that it looked like a " walnut " . A sphinteroplasty is really a type of plastic surgery. The surgeon will open up the sphincter(s) and then surgically attach it do the intestinal wall at the duodenum. that way there is nothing to spasm anylonger and the ducts can drain properly. I have seen alot of pts have this and be successful and is considered the surgical cure for SOD. Dr. at MUSC did mine. Oh and if I do go back to work and you are in need of my services, honey you would not have to wait in line for one second. Thanks for saying that. If there is anything I can do for you, just ask.
