Guest guest
Kathleen- I lost some peripheal vision in one eye...I think it was from extreme retching. I never got that part of my vision back. When I noticed it I was in the hospital and wearing my glasses (I usually wear contacts) so I thought it was the pain meds and because I was wearing glasses. I kept thinking it would get better...I finally mentioned it to my doctor who told me to go to an eye doctor who then referred me to an eye specialist...and he said to me that he suspected I had a small stroke. The MRI didn't show anything, but it had been 2 months by then. My vision does change occasionally (nothing to do with my peripheal) and about the time I think I need stronger contact correction, it gets better. My theory? The more pain killers I need to help me out, the more it misses with my vision, when the pain settles down, my vision does better. I know, crazy thoughts....but it beats the incredulous look I get from my doctor and lack of an explanation. I try to make sense of oddities in my own mind...kinda makes me feel better about things.
