Hi Angie. Dr. Lehman is a great doctor and has done wonderful work

caring for pancreatic pantients but he is not a surgeon he is an

endoscopist. Just like Dr. Hawes. Stick with he will make sure

that if you need to have surgery that he can not perform he will send

you in the right direction. He does do total pancreatectomies but MUSC

does not have the equipment, yet, to harvast and isolate the islet

cells. I had heard through the grapevine that this may be in the works

when they open the new hospital. is the one who sent me to

Cincinatti and went to great lengths to insure I had the islet cell

transplant. 6 weeks post op for such a big operation is not that long

at all sweety. Give yourself a break, it will take time, but Ihope and

pray that in time you will feel much much better. It has gotten

alittle better, right.

With all my warmest wishes,

,

Some days are better but all in all I can't really tell a difference with

the surgery other than I don't throw up as much. My food seems to digest a

little better. The pain is about the same as before. My enzymes are going up and

down but mostly staying up. My pcp is staying on top of them and I am having

blood work about every other week. Aggravating but at least I know where my

levels are. I wish they made a stick you could urinate on to test that like they

do

for ketones! That would be awesome!

How are you these days? Are you getting any energy back yet? I hope so!

I trust Dr. Adam's so much and I know that he will steer me in the right

direction if he needs to. He is a great doc and I love his personality. He is a

very caring and warm person. He should offer classes on bedside manner!

Take care,

Angie
