Guest guest
Hi, no I don't have panc divisium (sp?). I have high pressure in the panc duct which came from my undiagnosed SOD within my bile duct. I had high pressure in the bile duct, had a sphincterotomy, and then continued with attacks. Then Dr. Lehman was the first to measure the pressure in my panc duct and it was around 100 (supposed to be less than 35). Anyway, that sphincterotomy gave me some relief from the SOD attacks for about 7 months, then they started again. I went to Dr. Lehman again in March this year and had another sphincterotomy and ballooning and just never got any relief from that procedure. I certainly hope that he can do something for me. I am beginning to feel hopeless!! I really don't look forward to another hospital stay either. Everytime I have a procedure done, I end up in-patient for 3-5 days. My veins aren't the best and I don't look forward to being poked and prodded either! I was so upset after I made my appointment this morning, that I just sat and cried. How long has it been since your sphincteroplasty? Do they say that it will take a long time before you will get relief? Or is it just a wait-n-see thing? I'm sorry you have to endure all this stuff too! Please take extra care of yourself. Kris in TN
Guest guest
Angie: I am very glad to hear you are having a good day! You really must be careful and not over do it...I had (for what I am used to) a really good weekend. I slept then from (Sunday) 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. up for 1- 1/2 hours back to bed to sleep till 7:40 a.m. went to work slept through my lunch hour and then came home took a little nap at 6:30 p.m. then went for a walk for 1/2 hour (it was too hot), came home and was in bed asleep by 10 - now I've been up since 3:15 a.m. had a nightmare and pain. My mom always tells me to be careful b/c I always over do it on my " good days " . But we all understand why. When they don't come very often we get too excited! I pray you don't over do it and also that you have more good days to come. Hugs & prayers Teal
Guest guest
Teal, Amen to overdoing on the good days. I have learned that I have to be careful because when I overdo it I really pay for it with the SOD attacks. Now that I know what they are! I didn't know what was going on with me until I finally got the info from my doc. I just assumed it was a different type of pancreas pain. It has steadily gotten worse over the past 6-8 months. But today was another pretty good day! I went grocery shopping and stocked up. When I am having a good day I do that so that when I am not I don't have to try and run to the grocery store. I has been horribly hot here in South Carolina. Today it was 102 in the car thermometer. My hubby is a mailman and he put a temp gauge in his mailtruck and it was 140 in his truck!! I am searching the net trying to find him a fan that plugs into the cigarette lighter. He has a small one but I would like for him to have a bigger one. Have a good day!
