I don't know about panc pain but I have used one for the last 15 years

for lower back pain. It works great for my back pain but I do notice

that my stomach pain increases when I am using it though.

Just my experience.

Thanks for the info Kris. Hmmmm, interesting that it would cause the

abdominal pain to worsen. I, too, have back pain and in fact, I can't

even sleep in our bed anymore and our mattress is only about 3 yrs

old!! I don't know what it is lately but I have been waking up with

unbearable lower back pain and also pain in my shoulder area to the

point that I can't even push myself up with my arm or use my back

muscles to push myself up out of bed w/o excruciating pain. I

actually have to roll over onto my left side (the right side is where

the shoulder pain is) and then try and push myself up and out of the

bed that way. I have been sleeping on the couch lately because of

this and it's getting to be just another frustrating thing to add to

an already frustrating illness....funny thing is I don't get that back

or shoulder pain when I sleep on the couch.

As you can well imagine, it's not doing much for my poor husband who

now sleeps alone in the bed. We'll have to figure out something to do

regarding the mattress situation....we've turned it, turned it around

(feet side up to head side and vice versa) but that doesn't seem to

work either.

Too bad, because it's only been in the last few years that I've

finally gotten the bedroom where I wanted it to be in terms of

decorating...finally got a beautiful wood four poster bed, etc., and

now can't sleep in it!! Aaargh......

Anyway, thanks for the info on the TENS unit. I'll have to try it

though and see if I get any relief. I'm willing to try anything at

this point. I wonder if anyone has gotten any relief from

acupuncture? Maybe I should try and give that a shot as well if our

health ins will cover it...I think they cover a limited amount of

visits but will have to double check.
