Guest guest Posted July 26, 2005 Report Share Posted July 26, 2005 Hi, , Yes, I can answer your question, as I was part of Dr. Lehman's Trial Group on Sandostatin, which is the name brand for the drug, Octreotide. I believe it is mfr'd in Sweden, and not originally for use in pancreatitis. I don't recall now what it's original use is. In my case, I had to endure several shots a day for quite a number of weeks, the drug was really very expensive - over $1600 a month - and its ONLY effect on me was that it gave me the best relief for constipation I'd had, ever!
