Guest guest
I have to admit, I chuckled at that one! But, with crystals, you sure don't want to be busting them! In fact I am so paranoid about chipping or breaking them that I almost obsess over it on the trip home. I am always checking the bag, I bring it into the hotel, then check it upteen times during the night! I have the bag here at work now to show off to anyone I can corner! Digging around for fossils has to be really fun too. My husband loves to do that. There is a really good place in Montana for that. Glendive I think is the area. There is a area near a dinosaur state park, I think that is open to people to hunt. We found some mollusk and other shell fish type fossils there - some with the opalescence still on them. Clams too that theoretically could have pearls inside of them. But I am not sure how you open up a fossilized clam. So we just keep it as is. Again, it is just really cool. We also go saphire panning in Montana too and have found some awesome jewels. It is called Gem Mountain and they have a website if you want an idea of what that is like. We love going there. The owners of the operation are awesome. I am planning on getting some pictures of my two extraordinary crystals and when I get my new computer up and working I can email you the pictures (my new computer is still in its box because I still don't have a monitor for it). I agree with you about the association of young violence and drugs. Especially in this case - they said that it took over ten minutes of being " Tased " by a gaggle of cops before they could pull the kid off from his dad. And I guess the kid has a history or uncontrolled violence. So it fits...but then, it could be anything I guess. He is a big guy, strong and athletic - he was a scholarship hockey player. We are hoping that the dad makes a full recovery. At this point they are optmistic but as you know, so many things can happen during a long hospital stay........ My husband works in a cytology lab. He looks at body fluids for cancerous cells (not biopsies, but fluids). He also is the type of person who looks at pap smears. So it is an interesting job but sad at times as he is seeing younger and younger persons with very advanced cancer. Seems to get worse every year. We have some interesting, philosophical conversations about the reasons why...... We are still chilly here but I heard we are suppose to get back to the 90s by the weekend so I am hopeful that summer is still here. There is nothing more depressing than Fall in August. But I have to say, 115 degrees, even at the beach, is probably more than I could handle. But the image of the beach is very tempting. I am glad that you are getting out there to enjoy it...even with the screaming kids! What a wonderful way to refresh the body and mind..... I hope you take advantage of that as much as you can! I gotta go, my ride is here! Laurie
