I surrender!

I am by trade an industrial electrician/electronic mechanic. I don't

know if that tittle gives you enough idea of what I do but suffice to

say it is hot hard sweaty physical manual labor. Untill 3 weeks ago

I worked the night shift in a controlled environment building and

have been able to continue working albeit with LOTS of pain meds.

I bid day shift 3 weeks ago with put me in the heat with heavy

equiment and up to 7 flights of stairs, working on high voltages.

This is the work I have always done and is really all I know how to

do.

I had to call my boss two days ago and tell him I am no longer able

to do the job. I also reached into a power supply without killing

power and grabbed 120volts for a few moments, due I think to pain and

pain meds, mainly.

I have a call in to my doctor but can't see her before Tuesday. My

specialist is out of town untill September so I am just in limbo for

now.

I know my doctor doesn't want me working in this environment but my

insurance had overrode her orders almost a year ago and sent me back

to work inspite of her restrictions or I would have lost my job.

Like with a lot of us here i am sure my job pays the bill and my

husbands job pays for the extras so the thought of losing this income

has had me jumping thru hoops for years now before and after I was

out on long term disability before they made me go back.

Please remind me that there is life after you can't work or at least

cant work at what you know anymore

Thanks to you all and sorry for venting!

Shelia
