Guest guest
It never ceases to amaze me what our bodies can do. I have heard other people say they have ducts that go nowhere. Divisum is a lot like that. My ducts were normal as far as that they did connect where they were supposed to but were 'kinky'. They called it tortuous, howw appropriate, it certainly was torture. I have had problems all my life. I can recall attacks as young a 11 or so. I wasn't diagnosed until 2 years ago. The twisted duct would not let the ezymes flow. The enzymes would be released into the pancreas itself causing what is called autodigestion. This severely damaged the head of my panc and when I had the Beger; an organ sparing whipple, the doc said it looked like a " walnut " . As the organ atrophied it caused the Sphincter of Oddi to scar. So thats my story in a nutshell. I hope the insurance will come through for you. I had my total in Cincinatti, they did a great job and its where several of us being treated at MUSC are being sent for the tp-ict. I'm the patient from hell and was treated very well, I was impressed by the quality of care for the most part. Dr. Sutherland in MN is fantastic. He is pratically the guy who introduced this procedure to the US for treating cp; having first been developed for juvinile diabetics using donor islets. Hope your having a good day and feeling as well as possible.
