Guest guest
I have never heard of a pseudo-obstruction. Although an obstruction did enter my mind but thing are still moving ok. I had also thought of an intestinal twisting, I forget what that is called. You are right tho, when they cut you open and manimpulate your bowell they really cant put it back exactly where it all came from and with each surgery it increases the risks of probs down the road. It still has me fairly sore and I am worried about that tho. I do get queasy after I eat a meal, but had some reglan lying around so have been taking that. I am trying not to think about it too much. I see the doc on Wed and I already had asked him about it when it happened and he said it would get better. I'll talk withhim about it at the appt see what he has to say. I dont want to go back on any narcs but I am in pain, tough decision. I already had withdrawel from the oxy and it was not pleasant at all. I was only on it for 8 weeks too and it really wiped me out to withdrawel, I was sick. I was on demerol for 14 months and had less intense reaction when I stopped it. Oh well such is life right. Talk soon hon and thanks for the input.
Guest guest
Hi, I have cyctic fibrosis with my CP and we do get what are called pseudo-obstructions. They are caused from large distentions of the bowel , like mine from a megacolon. The stool just lays there and can not move and the mucous collects and causes fermentation and obstructs. I have had to have a gastro graphin enema in radiology to relieve the terrible pain. And when I get them i usually get a CP attack. Lovely, just what you always wanted. But at 51 and having learned to live with it is all you can do. Mine is directly related to what I eat. Sugar, caffeine, chocolate, and anything fat sets it off. I am almost on a fat free diet totally. Just a bit of info. Pain free to all. Deb
