Karyn-CDE and the book

Thank you for plugging the book about and by nurses. I wondered if

anybody ever purchased it other then nursing schools. It is a

beautiful book and well put together. the stories are very thought

provoking. I hope you enjoy it. It was in its 2nd publication the last

time I spoke with them and that was quite some time ago.

They contacted me not long after the first publication and asked if my

story of inspiration could be used in a demonstration of how to write

an inspirational piece. They would only be using excerts and my name

would be on them. So how about that, I became a reference. That kind

of cracks me up.

I requested the info and handbook from the ADA and should be receiving

it soon, hopefully. If you would like the number to request the

handbook just let me know. There is no cost in getting it but the test

is several hundred dollars.

I had also thought about going for my masters but with one child in

college now, one in high school and one in the 5th grade; I simply cant

afford it. Becoming a CDE would make me more marketable when I go

looking for another position. Besides I have always enjoyed and have

been good at pt and family teaching. I have heard the test is rather

difficult and you dont always pass on the first go. So we'll see.

Well I do hope you enjoy the book and dont hold that picture they have

of me in there against me. I had just given birth a few weeks prior

and looked horrible. But they were insistent that they have a pic of

me in my graduation ensemble.
