how much pain meds is too much?

I am going to ton tomorrow. I don't quite understand why my docs PA

freaked when I told her that I had taked 120 5 mg. oxy's in 2 weeks. I have done

that before when I have had a rough few weeks. It is not always that way. I

am brutally honest with how much pain meds I take. I will not lie to my docs

about it. I don't see the point in lying about it. They can't help me if they

don't know what I need right? He prescribed them as 1-2 every 4 hours and I

could take another 1 every 4 hours in between for breakthrough pain. They oxy's

are great but they don't last long. I am hoping he will put me on Oxcontin

tomorrow. I have been putting it off, hoping I would get better after surgery

and

not have to go through that. It's not looking so good and I have to go back to

work on Monday. I want to know I won't have to suffer when I try to go back to

work. Am I taking too much? I am so confused!
