I actually showed up at IU ER and simply refused to leave until I was referred to a pancreatologist. That was lengthy and required extensive tests. They finally admitted me in an observation bed. The next day the round of GI residents came and discharged me, but I still refused to go until I saw a pancreatologist. I told them was still in pain and I would leave but would simply walk right back down to the ER. They finally got Dr. Sherman up there who did further tests and admitted me with chronic pancreatitis.
