Guest guest
When the emt's checked my sugar it was 51 after the seizure. It was the first drop after the ict. I have dropped that low since and have recognized it. One night I woke up feelin glike Iwas going to die. My heart was racing I was sweating profusely and pale and I checked my sugar and it was 30. That was very scarey and is a horrible feeling. I try to listen to my body so that I can better detect the lows. I keep the house cool, as most everybody is hot but I tend to stay cold. The first thinkg I will notice when I go low is I will get very very sleepy to the point my eyes are watering. Then I will feel hot and flushed. When that happens I tend to check. However, since the seizure I check my BS every 2-3 hours while awake. If you are waking with sugars 50-60 that is way to low. Are you seeing an endocrinologist? Are you taking a long acting insulin at bedtime like Lantus? The first thing the endo doc did with me is to drop the Lantus then he changed my dosing when I eat. I had gotten tot he point that I took no insulin at all. I take very little now and only when I eat a very heavily carbed meal, like pasta or lots of sweets like cake and ice cream, but I check my BS regularily too. Hope your doing well.
