Guest guest
Hi Jean, I am not sure what you are asking but wish to help in any way that I can. Are you just looking for people who can verify that it happened to them so will not feel alone or singled-out or are you looking more for explanations about why ER docs behave this way? I can tell you that I had the " addict " lecture from an ER doc a few years ago a week or so before I was diagnosed with a blocked pancreatic duct. So she is not alone. This was even when I had significantly elevated liver enzymes (but normal pancreatic ones) so not only did he misdiagnose the pancreatitis but he ignored the liver problems that should have been addressed. His attitude was completely humiliating and to this day I will have nothing to do with that physician - even as a colleague. If you are looking for an explanation of why ER docs do what they do, I can also attempt to clarify that - just let me know or you can go back a page or two to my attempt to answer Steve yesterday.
