Guest guest
I agree that an ERCP can cause problems with acute pancreatitis. But if it wasn't for the ERCP, I would still be sick with my pancreas problems. That is how they found my problems, Panc divism/SOD, my ducts were clogged. I had every test imaginable to man and nothing ever showed up. All my labs were ALWAYS within normal ranges. I have found, by personal experience, that if my MD just goes in and does a look and see with the ERCP, no cutting or stenting, that I don't get a flair. It was when he did procedures on my ducts that it flaired. But after the flair calmed, my pain stoppped. Everyone is so different, but if it wasn't for my diagnostic ERCP, I would still be clogged, in major pain and not eating. Guest guest
Dear , I am so sorry you had such a bad ERCP, I would shiver too. Yes, they definitely can cause problems, and some of them major. The procedure risks are scary. But they also can provide intervention which can provide you with complete relief of the pain (my experience). There have been a few ERCPs that I have had an attack. But once I was able to calm it down, I was good to go. The ERCP and the skill of my MD enabled me to eat ANYTHING and be completely out of pain. Everyone is so different with this disease, it is truly amazing. And never feel you are butting in. It is great that we can all share our experiences and learn from each other. That's what makes this group so great. Everyone shares. Hugggs to you too........
