Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, I'll have her iron levels checked. Just out of interest, how could I increase her iron as her diet seems full of it? OJ meat- beef pork chicken turkey small amounts of fish- shrimp, scallops and tilapia, and salmon fruits and veg- all kinds and large quantities. pulses- lentils, beans. nuts, especially almonds, cashews eggs. She does not eat dairy atall or soy. I give her vegetable soup every day made with stock from bone marrow. Do I need to combine foods? Thanks, . Guest guest
Here's a link about iron absorption. It's about supplements but the information would apply to iron from food, too. http://www.ehow.com/how_4545_absorb-iron-supplements.html Also, tooth color and strength have improved for people on the vitamin K protocol. Information on the vitamin K protocol is here: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/VitaminK/ mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, I'll have her iron levels checked. Will she eat spinach? It is loaded with iron. I make it taste really good and my kids love it. I buy a bag of organic spinach, wash it then steam-saute it with olive oil and garlic in a saute pan with just the water that remains on the leaves, no added water. If you do 1 bag use 2-3 Tbs of good quality extra virgin, cold pressed olive oil and 4 cloves of crushed garlic. Cook it till the leaves are just all wilted. It is soooo good and full of iron.
