You really made clear the idea of individualism to medication reaction. Even though I know in my head that this exists, it is hard to really bring it home at times - I know that I have this tendency to rely on what " should " happen vs what does...even though I am probably more liberal in that attitude than most of the people I work with (medical people tend to be more " scientific " and less " intuitive " I guess is a way to describe it). I think that if that book every develops it may be interesting to include a chapter that describes the variation of responses to the commonly used medicines for managing pancreas-type symptoms.
