Guest guest
1 " cup " is a unit of measure in the USA. So there is no big or small cup in cooking recipes. Just as a teaspoon or tablespoon is a unit of measure in cooking recipes. Confusing I know, as one can drink from a cup of any size - which is not the same as a measuring cup. One can also eat with silverware that is teaspoon and a tablespoon - which are not standardized sizes either like measuring spoons for cooking. That said - I went and weighed 1 cup of almond flour and it weighed 5 ounces - can you convert that into grams? Would that be 150 grams - my scale also has other numbers on it but does not say what unit of measure that is. W. OT: - " A CUP OF ALMOND .......... " ??? Guest guest
I was just guessing what the marks on my scale were - if you had great results I'd stick with what you used. W. Guest guest
Goran--I missed that part at the bottom where you pick a substance. When I selected ground almonds and put in 1 US cup, it calculated that 1 US cup equals .9858 European cup = 85.17 grams. Our figures are close. Wish someone could give us a definitive answer on this, but it sounds like you made some bread that turned out well. Were you using 86.4 grams in place of each cup? --- pani pani wrote: > Hi > When you come in this web convert page and choice > almond/ground, and put in European Kintceh Units 1 > cup and press convert, is 86.4 grams. > 1 EU cup = 1.014 US cup, so ??? > Maybe I confused all, or Im right?? > Regards > > wrote: > Hi Goran, > > According to this measurement conversion web site: > http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/cooking ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Need a vacation? Guest guest
Goran, the simplest way to convert american measurements is on google. You go to www.google.com. Type " 1 cup to deciliter " and it translates it for you. " 1 ounce to gram " or " 1 quart to liter " or " 1 gallon to liter " or " " 1 pint to liter " .... Those are some common American measurements. (Americans generally dont use the international metric system). The word " CUP " used in cooking in America doesnt mean a cup you drink out of. It is similar to a DECILITER. It is bad science to say that 1 cup of almond flour equals an amount of grams because that is very inaccurate as every type of almond flour will have a different weight per volume depending on how it was made. I have lived in former Yugoslavia and I know you guys use deciliters. 1 CUP = 2,37 DECILITERS Some other quick conversions that are typical in baking in america: 1 Tsp, 1 t or 1 teaspoon = 4,93 milliters (about the size of the little spoons used in CAJ) 1 T, 1 Tbsp, 1 tablespoon = 14,8 milliliters (about the size of a regular eating spoon) It isnt so strange that your son hasnt had a poo in 3 days. Dont be worried. The intro diet seems to " slow " some peoplesĀ“ systems down. You should slowly introduce new vegetables... such as really cooked carrots.. (I cook them 4 hours).... really cooked long green beans (boiled for 30 minutes), really cook asparagus (circa 30 minutes), really cooked cucumber. I blend them all... make them almost like liquid. I can eat them as a sauce over my meats. I really would not give your son SCD bread yet. My husband and I have been SCD since April/May and we still can not make the bread yet. Eating the bread on day 3 might be too soon. If your son gets some diarrhea or pieces of nuts in his poo, then you definitely should go back to NO BREAD and just vegetables, pears/apples, and meats. just take it slowly and dont rush to the fancy, better tasting foods. The beginning of the diet is really boring, but it is so much better to be healthy than to get diarrhea from the nut bread! - since april/may 2007
