Guest guest
Hi, It's been awhile since I've posted. I had a really bad day today! I saw my GI doc today who told me there is nothing that he could do for me. The last few weeks have been just horrible for me (and my family). I've had pneumonia for most of the summer and have been seeing my PCP. He is fantastic!!! I developed addition symptoms that I suspected were pancreas related, such as abdominal pain, severe nuasea and vomiting, etc. the list goes on. We did a CT because I hadn't had one in 8 months and my enzyme levels were normal. When the CT came back normal, he suggested I see my GI doctor which I did today. He told me straight out that there was nothing that he could do for me and that I should go see my pain management doctor. I told him that the only thing he will do for me is a celiac block. Which I'm not to sure I want to do. My GI doc advised me against this last year, what changed his mind? I told him that this is the only thing he (the pain doc) will do for me. I left very frustrated and angry with him. I am so upset. I am at a loss as to what to do. I feel horrible. There has to be something I can do. Thanks for listen, I appreciate it. Guest guest
Kat, Since your current pain management doctor is so inflexible in his options, would it be possible to get a referral to another one? A physician who only offers the choice of a procedure that's known to have such a questionable success rate isn't very helpful. There are many other PM's that are more willing to explore other options that have a higher degree of success. See if your GI would recommend another one, or if you could find another one yourself.
