Guest guest
To all concerned, No, I have not spoken with and no I do not know what her challenges are right now. However, we really need to be honest on this forum about the thought of wanting to die! I can not tell you the number of times that, since becoming so ill, that I have wished death upon myself. It would ease the family's having to deal with someone so sick and in so much need of support and care. The economics of not working where, in a nation of need of multiple incomes, one can not contribute financially to the family and its ultimate economic success are very overwhelming. I dare anyone here to tell me that they have never been concerned with their economic situation and also thought about how hard their partner is working and how much of a burden that is. Spiritually, I also ask you to sincerely weigh how much this weighs on you and your family that in being so ill that you have never questioned or have been burdened with what your life's meaning is and what answers you can come up with that are less than nominal. Also, those who are in chronic pain and suffering, I ask you to honestly tell me that you NEVER wanted this to just " end, " no matter if it even means the end of your mortal being. I understand also that events in our lives and the people in our lives have been somehow twisted to a new focal point with this illness. Such a view can mostly be viewed as " unhealthy " (pardon me if you think this is a pun or a ply on words) and can never contribute to the positive growth of our own self perception or well being. This cuts and picks at us daily and no one can tell me that this is a pretty picture. How many times have you been told by someone that you will get " better " in time? How many " times " has that time never come? Anyone living in this manner must certainly tender their souls to one of despair! I sense all of this in 's post. I am very sensitive to this. Believe me, all of the prayers and the overreaction to her comment in terms of asking her whether or not she really " meant " it are no more than a lessening of her spirit and even more a lack of sensitivity to something that everyone here has experienced. We can forever tell others how we " got over " our internal crises; however, you must admit, that it is forever knocking on the door of the back of your minds. Are you really responding directly to HER or is it really something inside of YOURSELF? Sorry for this rant but I needed to get this off of my chest. In a situation requiring empathy, all she got was retort. I defend her in her statement and I let her live with it in her own way as each of us has or refused.
