Guest guest
Question. . . I know cashews are a more advanced food (I think because of the starch), but why does Degestive Wellness say it may be too advanced for ASD kids? Is there something in particular that is peculiar to ASD kids or is there something typically about the inability to digest foods more with ASD kids than non-ASD kids? Does this mean anything at all? Guest guest
Hi Bonita, Not TMK. I think what was happening is that ASD kids with phenol issues were avoiding almonds and many were going for cashews and cashew butter. Unfortunately the kids were having trouble because it is starchy and they were introducing it too soon in the healing process. Pecans are the easiest to tolerate (besides almonds).
