Guest guest
Hi Toni, I have had 3 ERCP'S and the 2nd one was a stent placement. Mine was in for 7 weeks. It was placed by a GI physician at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle Washington. Yes, they have to do an xray to make sure that it is still there or if it has made its way out of the pancreas. My pancreatic duct was clogged and the enzymes were backing up in my sytem and not being excreted into the digestive system like they should. I had it removed more than a month ago and so far it is doing ok. Not to say that it can't become clogged again. Who knows??? I have had 2 attacks since the removal but they were small ones. The last one landed me in the er again and more iv. pain meds. This is a normal procedure. Glad to have helped and share my experience with you
