when to add enzymes??

My daughter has been on the scd diet since 8/2/07 and she is doing very

well, although only eating lamb boiled, and squash pureed with green

beans, around 3 tsp of scd goat yogurt and a little honey, and the scd

electrolyte drink (tons!). When do I add the enzymes to help with the

digestion of fruit and other things...I have the houston

pharmaceuticals zyme prime (how much, I am guessing 1/4 tsp twice a

day...or whatever they suggest) and which do you all use for better

fruit digestion? I am scared to add these as she seems to be doing so

well. At the same time I need to be adding more, and whatever I add

seems to cause a reaction. I tried peas boiled for 3 hours, pureed

with squash and it seemed to cause problems today.

Any help appreciated!

I would try the enzymes initially in a very small amount (less than

whatever it says on the container) once a day and then increase

slowly. I would try the enzymes the next time you try a new food (or a

food that you've tried and she reacted to, but you think she might

handle with the enzymes.) That new food should also be in a small

amount.

We don't use the Houston enzymes, but if they're like the Kirkmans, you

should (eventually) use them with each meal--with snacks, too, as

needed.
