Guest guest
Hi there, everyone. I experience nausea every single moment of the day. I am currently taking Phenegran every 4 hours, but I have been taking it for the last 8 months non-stop, therefore it is starting to loose its effectiveness. Zofran does not work, for me, and Reglan makes me twitch! Can you guys tell me the medicine you take for nausea and the amount. Thanks,
Guest guest
Studies suggest that ginger fights nausea and aids digestion. Some people chew on candied ginger, while others take ginger capsules or drink a tea made from hot water steeped with a teaspoon of ground ginger, or a slice or two of fresh ginger root. http://www.freep.com/news/health/nutri4_20020604.htm
Guest guest
In addition to taking your medication, the following general suggestions may help you prevent or control nausea and vomiting: a.. Try eating foods and drinking beverages that have been easier for you to take or have made you feel better when you had the flu, morning sickness or were nauseated from stress. These might be bland foods, sour candy, pickles, dry crackers, ginger ale, flat soda or others. Eat small, frequent meals (5-6), instead of 3 large meals each day. b.. Do not eat fatty or fried foods, very spicy foods or very sweet foods. c.. If possible, have somebody else make the meals when you are nauseated. d.. Do not eat your favorite foods when you are nauseated. e.. If you have nausea and vomiting only for a few days after chemotherapy, cook and freeze several meals that you can reheat during times when you are nauseated. f.. Eat foods that are at room temperature or cold. The smells from hot foods may make your nausea worse. g.. Keep your mouth clean; brush at least twice a day. h.. Consider shakes or liquid nutritional supplements to help maintain your nutrition. i.. Ask your doctor or nurse about using acupressure (BioBands) on your wrists, which may help to decrease your nausea.
Guest guest
Hi , I had that too and it was a horrible feeling. I got to the point that i was taking zofran 8mgs around the clock and would always try to eat a little bit at a time. Usually would try about an hour or so after I had taken it. I tried to take in food that were nutritionally sound yet easy to tolerate. Chicken noodle soup, Bananas, cooked carrots all soft and mushy, sort of like the BRATs foods that we would give children Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast, when they are nauseas. I would also sip sodas at room temp, dont know why but it seemed to settle me more then when they were cold. Compazine is another antiemetic you can ask your doc about. It never really helped me but neither did phenergan and I was allergic anyway. Zofran was my best friend and I still keep it handy. What does zofran do to you? What is your current dosage of phenergan? It doesn't make you sleepy? I also found that certain smells would just throw me over. Heavy perfumes, some foods, stuff liek that. I just banned all that stuff from my house. Even heavily scented flowers were out the door. Even some fabric softeners and forget about those air fresheners, couldn't stand it. I hope this helps some. I know how bad it feels to have that kind of nausea. I hope you feel better soon. Warmly, (SC)
