Guest guest
, Thanks for the encouragement. The first infection in January of this year, I had a PICC. This time I had a Hickman. I will mention to the docs a port a cath. Is there less chance of infection with a port a cath? Obviously, I am scared of getting endocarditis again and I am refusing another line after they put in a line for the antibiotics only. I told them the number of problems is escalating. I only had pancreatitis until the infections. Now, I have endocarditis and pancreatitis. So you can see why I am so reluctant to have another line. I would rather take my chances with pancreatitis. They will not release me until the fevers stop. How long did it take for your fevers to stop? Mine has been going on for 2 weeks. I don't know whether I am more scared or more depressed about all of this. Pat
