Guest guest
Does any one know if cultured vegetables are legal? I'm thinking of getting the ones on the Alive website? http://www.culturedvegetables.com/index.html I'm also wondering about their coconut kefir juice. If they are legal can one introduce them right away or should one wait awhile before introducing them. Guest guest
Hi Doreen, <<Does any one know if cultured vegetables are legal?>> Yes, cultured veggies are legal. << I'm thinking of > getting the ones on the Alive website? > http://www.culturedvegetables.com/index.html>> Elaine said that veggies cultured with legal cultures is okay. If the culture they use is legal (no illegal additives ) then it may be fine - *if* the veggies that they use are legal to start with. In other words potatoes are illegal even if cultured. The ones with dulse flakes are illegal. << I'm also wondering about their coconut kefir juice.>> Sorry, this is not legal - young coconut juice/water/milk is not legal. > If they are legal can one introduce them right away or should one wait > awhile before introducing them. > Thanks, Doreen MC 2 1/2 yrs SCD 4wks If legal (you need to check on the bacterial starter) you may be okay with the juices before the raw fermwented veggies. It depends what types of food you are able to tolerate. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and

Guest guest
Hi Doreen, Yes, L. plantarum is a legal bacteria for fermented foods. What I meant was are there any other ingredients in the " starter " that they are using - any illegal ingredients (inulin etc..)?
