Guest guest
Hi , How are things going by you? I wanted to say that I meant to respond to your last email from Friday. I think finding a time when we could get together under good circumstances would be " awesome " . You sorely tempt me whenever you talk about walking on the beach. I use that visualization technique sometimes when I need to turn my mind off. I will email you with my work phone number as I really do not get near a phone when I am at home. Work really is not a problem for talking and if we get interrupted I can always just let you know that I " gotta go " . I am hoping that things are going better for you....that all of the issues are settling down or finding a resolution that is comfortable for you. I am feeling not so dizzy or fuzzy right now but I can tell my body is recovering still from the set-back of last week. I am fairly convinced that it was a very long attack of biliary colic. It wasn't as intense as I have had in the past....but definitely the longest that I have ever experienced. It is quite demoralizing as I thought that that part of my biliary / pancreatic disease or pain was taken care of....but it is now twice in the last year that I have had attacks. But I guess that is better than before the sphincterotomy of the SO - then I was having them at least twice a month. But I am fearful that it means it is all coming back.....and with no options available to deal with it this time. But then, I am being pessimistic and will not allow myself to do that anymore. I am truly tryng to apply that " let's not cross that bridge...... " philosophy! Interesting about your fibrosis - I am wondering if the calcification part of it hadn't shown up yet or like you said...it all happened so fast that the imaging studies were done " too soon " . It sure seems as if your case was an extreme one - both endpoint and rapidity. Heidi's (?) seems to be another one too. Just goes to show you that there really isn't that " textbook " case......and it is somewhat futile for physicians to base their opinions on the " what should be " instead of what is staring them in front of their face. That is my pet peeve from reading this board about members experiences with their doctors: that is.......I want to shout at them: " TREAT THE SYMPTOMS, NOT THE SIGNS! " . Oh well......off on a tangent again........... Laurie
