I just got back from my GI doc who claims all of my inflammation,

pain and assorted fun things going on in my gut is gastritis, GERD

and IBS.

I take 40 mg of Protonix a day. He wanted to up it to twice a day ,

but that makes me very ill.

I told him there was heat coming from that area as well as swelling,

but he said the bloodwork does not show it was pancreatitis. DOn't

get me wrong, it would be a blessing not to have it, but I am not

convinced.

He also said the gallbladder would not have anything to do with it

and a CAT scan would have shown if it was pancreatis. And if I

passed a stone it would be gone now.I can't eat anything other than

dry toast or I'm in pain.

I picked up my medical records and it said sludge and stones were in

the gallbladder.

I think I need a second opinion.

Eileen, What you describe sure sounds like pancreatitis. If you are in

the advanced stages, the bloodwork might now show elevated levels of

lipase as part or most of your pancreas is no longer functioning. My

GI, a specialist in pancraetic diseases, said some people have

pancreatitis and feel no pain. Maybe you had it with no pain and now

it has started to hurt. I would go for a second opinion, no doubt

about it. Maybe an MRI would show damage to the pancreas better. I've

also had CT Scans that focus on the pancreas. I am feeling much better

today, hope you are the same...Jim
