Guest guest
My 2 yr. old is on SCD and I am trying to get her to eat the yoghurt. She seems to tolerate it fine but she doesn't like it. She has yeast issues so I try to avoid adding much honey and the taste is sooooo TANGY that she doesn't like it. I have been making her shakes with yoghurt and fresh legal fruit and she will drink it fine. Is it ok for her to eat it this way daily? Any other suggestions for getting her to eat it? Guest guest
Hi Beth, You can try dripping the yogurt to remove some of the tartness - If you make your fruit smoothies with that you can add water or ice to make up the dripped water that you tossed out. It will make the smoothie less tangy but more concentrated with good bacteria. The dripped yogurt is also nice with cooked fruit. Guest guest
If you drip the yogurt it gets less tangy (and thicker). I bought a " yogurt cheese dripper " (http://www.digestivewellness.com/itempage-1048-24-13-1584.html) to help with this. The longer you leave it in, the thicker the yogurt gets. You can also drip the yogurt using cheesecloth. My Yogurmet came with a bag for dripping (but the " box " is the easiest and neatest way I've found to do it). Good luck, Ellen 10 y/o dd scd since 5/06 for Crohn's
