Guest guest
Hi, When you had your TP/ICT was there any part of your pancreas damaged. Half of my pancreas is damaged. From what I understand the tail is involved in this. Does the tail portion have the islet cells? The reason I ask is,the only surgeon who does ICT's in Canada wants my doctor to refer me to him and send all my medical records. It's the other end of the country compared to where I live but I am very excited about this. Since it looks like I am going to need a TP I would rather experienced surgeons perform it. The islet cell transplant would be a GREAT BIG bonus!!! Thanks for your info. We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and mystery. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
CJ, Before my TP/ICT the damage to my pancreas was in the tail. I am diabetic now, but my endocrinologist says that I take the smallest dose of insulin of any patient, including infants w/ diabetes. My HbA1C is 5.2, meaning that my diabetes is extremely well controlled. I have now had the diabetes for two years and have no damage from diabetes.
