Guest guest
Hi Amber: I just wanted to say welcome to you and glad that you found this group. I just read your post and Laurie's post to you and, as always, she offers up very good and sound advice. You'll find that there are a great number of people on this board that are quite knowledgeable about pancreatitis, both acute, recurrent acute, and chronic. I'm just sorry to hear that what brings you to this group is because of what happened to you in surgery. This sure seems to be a recurring story and I just can't believe that what starts out to be a relatively commonplace surgery ends up causing so many people to wind up with pancreas problems. I had a lap hysterectomy in 2002 and then a lap cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal if you're not familiar with the above term) and I'm convinced that my problems with pancreatitis began there. There are an inordinate amount of people that have had lap cholecystectomies that seem to wind up with pancreas problems and it seems to me that the medical community needs to take a better look that as a seemingly " causal factor. " Well, didn't mean for this to get so long but just wanted to say hello and hope that you make a fast and complete recovery!! Please feel free to post and you can certainly email me personally if you'd like to (I'm happy to " chat " ) at darrow3@... Take care and look forward to hearing from you
