Another pumpkin post: I spoke to a lovely woman this past weekend at

Macy's - she was from India (I speak to everyone it seems, strangers

on the elevator, people who look like they've had knee surgery ....).

For some reason I now don't remember I brought up the PBS pumpkin

story to her. She started telling me how in her country they eat

pumpkin like a vegetable - even eat them green! She was so sweet and

pretty.

I've never cooked pumpkin from scratch - just carved them for

Halloween. Besides, I like sweet potato pie.
